A contemporary reconfiguration of two adjacent dwellings, “The Black House” unifies previously separate volumes into a cohesive single-family residence articulated through geometric clarity and vertical hierarchy.
Guided by the client’s brief for a bold material identity and volumetric expression, the composition employs fair-faced concrete, charred timber, and black stone to delineate functional transitions such as balconies, stairwells, and floor plates. All within a visually monolithic skin.
Programmatically layered from the basement parking to the uppermost terrace, the vertical sequence incorporates guest quarters, play zones, and family bedrooms. All culminating in a shaded roofscape underneath a steel pergola with uninterrupted views of the Aegean Sea.
